Hindu Yuva at ISA’s Diwali Night 2018!
Hindu Yuva collaborated with the Indian Students Association for Diwali night this year. Hindu Yuva had a “Know more about Diwali” booth in the Sun Room at Memorial Union where attendees of the Diwali event were seen interacting with our volunteers, getting to know more about the festival of lights. We also had some art&crafts set up at our booth where people had fun decorating diyas and trying out Henna tattoos.
The fountain of the four seasons at the MU too was decorated by our volunteers with electric diyas and rangoli. Hindu Yuva also contributed to the main program by presenting before the crowd the significance and relevance of Diwali. We described a typical Diwali celebration in India to a crowd of over 500 people from different backgrounds and cultures. It was interesting to talk about different historical events and stories associated with Diwali as celebrated in different Indian traditions and also worldwide.
