Rakshabandhan (Universal Oneness Day)

Rakshabandhan

Universal Oneness Day (Raksha Bandhan) resonates with one of the core ethos of Hinduism i.e., Vasudhaiva Kutmbumbakam, which means that “the entire world is one family”. It is mainly an effort to express our gratitude and appreciation not only towards our family or friends, but also to people in the society who render their services for the development, maintenance and protection of the society to give them a sense of value and worth. This notion of giving back, results in a happier and healthier community and in long run, makes the community stronger and sustainable. Hindu YUVA believes in sharing the ethos and values of Hindu culture. This event serves as a practical demonstration of one of the essential tenets of Hindu way of life. Initiatives like these encourage healthy interactions between diverse cultures and develop fellowship amongst students coming from different backgrounds. Below are the links which will showcase this event organized by Hindu YUVA in the past years at Iowa State University.
