ISU Yogathon is a 2-week series of daily Yoga practice starting Jan 27 and culminating in a Grand Finale on Feb 9. The Yogathon is essentially a sun-salutation yoga campaign aimed at creating awareness about Yoga and its benefits in achieving a healthy mind, body, and spirit. Sun-salutation (Surya Namaskar) integrates simple Yoga postures (asanas) in 10 steps with easy deep breathing techniques which are immensely beneficial for the physical, mental and spiritual well being of an individual. This event is designed to provide a holistic approach to Yoga which shall involve meditation, breathing techniques and discussions on other elements of Yoga.
No prior experience in Yoga is needed! The event is free for Rec pass members. For individuals who do not have Rec services membership will be required to purchase a guest pass for $8.00. A guest must also have a valid ID at the time of purchasing the guest pass.
The daily workshops are being held in 1252Howe Hall from 6:30-7: 30 pm from Jan 27-Feb 8 except Feb 5 in 1028 Black Engineering.
The Grand Finale will be conducted in association with ISU Rec Services on Feb 9, 12:10-1: 30 pm. Doors open at 11:45 am.
