#ISUYogathon is a Sun-Salutation Yoga campaign aimed at creating awareness about Yoga and its benefits at ISU. Sun-Salutation (Surya-Namaskar) is a sequence of ten beneficial postures (asanas) for the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of an individual. The concluding day #ISUYogathon is organized in collaboration with ISU Recreation Services and The Yoga Club.
Hindu YUVA at ISU organized a fortnight of Surya Namaskars and Yoga, “Yoga for Health – Health for Humanity” to create awareness about Yoga and it’s benefits. Together we did 7245 sun salutations in this duration. The culmination of this campaign, YOGATHON was organized in collaboration with ISU Recreation Services and The Yoga Club. Around 105 Yoga enthusiasts participated from ISU and Ames community. Participants learnt basics of yoga postures, sun salutation, pranayama and meditation. The event also included a talk by Prof. Shankar Subramanian on the relationship between happiness and Yoga and the higher goals we can aspire towards. Here are some of the pictures from #ISUYogathon.
