Ganapati Visarjan

After the grand celebration on August 30, it's the time to bid farewell to Ganapati.  Hindu YUVA will have a  "Visarjan" of Ganesha on Sunday, September 07, 2014 in Brookside Park, Ames. We will do actual visarjan in a creek near the park. The Visarjan will be accompanied by pooja followed by recitation of Atharvasheersha. For Visarjan of Lord Ganesha, a procession marked with lezim dance in conjunction with other musical instruments will be organized. Prasadam will be served after the Visarjan. Carpool Rides for Janmashtami

Hindu YUVA at ISU will be arranging carpool rides to and from Hindu Temple, Madrid, IA for ISU students and staff interested in attending the midnight Janmashtami celebration. Ganesh Utsav Meeting

On the lines of last year, Hindu YUVA at ISU is planning to celebrate the Ganesh Chaturthi in the last week of August. The organizing team meets for the same every Wednesday in 0232 Carver Hall from 6:30 - 7:30 PM. Anyone who is willing to contribute in organizing the event is welcome to attend the meeting. Rath Yatra at Madrid Temple

On June 29th, Hindu YUYA at ISU arranged for the rides to and from the Madrid Temple, IA for ISU students (and staff) interested in attending the Shree Jaganath Rath Yatra. About 25 people from ISU participated in Rath Yatra with zeal and enthusiasm. They also helped in serving the prasadam and cleaning the temple after the event.
