Achievements

HinduYUVA is nothing without the efforts of volunteers who make everything we do possible. We thank everyone for achieving all these! We thank all our volunteers for their support and we hope for their continued support in the years to come.

The Iowa State University Student Activities Center recognized Hindu Yuva for its dedication and enrichment to the Iowa State University Community. In the academic year 2018-19, we received:

  • Outstanding Commitment to Diversity Award of the Year (2019-20)

Hindu Yuva achieved the award for ‘Outstanding Commitment to Diversity’ consecutively in the year 2019-20. The award recognizes our efforts to promote the cultural diversity on campus and in Ames town. Universal Oneness Day (Rakshabandhan) with ISU Police and Ames Fire Department, Ganesh Utsav, Sun-Salutation Yogathon, a guest lecture by Dr. Subhash Kak on ‘Ancient Indian Science in the Modern World’ were the key events organized by us this year.

  • Outstanding Commitment to Diversity Award of the Year (2018-19)

Hindu Yuva organized several events last year to create social awareness about Hindu culture and values. Our events like Universal Oneness Day (Rakshabandhan), Ganesh Utsav, ISU Yogathon, Friday night social, participation in the Multicultural night at an elementary school, etc. helped in providing learning opportunities for the Ames community to know and appreciate Hindu culture.

  • Outstanding Student Organization Advisor of the year (2018-19)- Dr. Arun Somani

Our advisor Dr. Arun Somani has been our constant support and guiding light throughout these years and we thank him for mentoring and helping us in all our endeavors.

Hindu YUVA at ISU has been awarded “Event of the Year” for the event Interfaith Dialogue by Iowa State University International Students & Scholars Office and International Student Council for the Academic Year 2017-18!

Hindu YUVA was awarded the ‘Emerging Student Organization of the Year’ award by Iowa State University’s International Student and Scholars Office and International Student Council for the academic year 2015-16.
